ARCHITECTURE

often makes intricate patterns and bright colours. This is a series of composites - often built up in three dimensions - inspired by real places. Although they’re a pastiche, they’re also a celebration of character, lifestyle and human inventiveness.

COASTING

depicts the detail of coastal life - some cunningly represented in three dimensions!

POLAR

I’ve always had a fondness for remote places but two trips proved especially inspirational. The first - to Antarctica - concentrated on the glory of the sea ice and the irrepressible wildlife that populates it. The second - to Greenland - focussed on the quirky resilience of the communities that cling to it’s coastline and the contradictions in their lifestyle.

SOLITUDE

a series of peaceful and reflective landscapes.

MAGNIFICENT DECLINE

has an uncommon attraction. It’s textures and patinas are often sculptural. It’s colours form unexpected and beautiful combinations.

PEBBLES

puts the microscope on local beach pebbles. Sitting on a North Norfolk beach you can't help sifting through the stones around you and admiring the pastel shades, delicate patterning and unexpected details these lovely beach gems contain. These attractive arrangements of Norfolk beach stones are textured with marble dust to make them truly stoney!

STILL LIFE AND INTERIORS

A series of understated oil paintings, whose subjects reveal themselves by the play of light on the surfaces around them.
